For more than a quarter of a century in research & clinical practice, I’ve been assembling psychological toolboxes. The tools inside are not used to fix others; rather they let me work to the best of my ability, to assist in custom designing new tools for each client. My ultimate goal is to help each individual, couple or family OR company best help themselves.
My psychotherapy & coaching toolbox includes…
- ideas from diverse schools of thought
- Different ways of perceiving
- evidenced-based & individualized treatments
- a variety of therapeutic techniques: including those Cognitive-Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Art Therapy, Hypnosis, Imagery and more
- a readiness to custom design solutions for each unique problem
- healthy skepticism, self-criticism and the desire for your feedback
- the intent to maintain rigorous professional standards along with…
- an openness of heart and mind
- a lifelong drive to help other people
- the endurance to get it right
- respect, encouragement and support for creativity
Diversity and Perspective.
I have been honored to work with a great variety of people: of different age groups, ethnic backgrounds/races, physical abilities, social class backgrounds, sexual orientations and gender identities. From this work I believe it’s important to recognize culture as well as individuality, that is:
- what we all share as humans
- how we are similar to some and different from others
- how we differ from all others and are uniquely individual
It’s also important to know how much one doesn’t (and cannot) know; yet, we can be practical, work well with what we do know or think we know, and do our best.
